To the Hon.The Colonial Secretary.
Dear Sir,
18th November, 1909.
I have the honour to report that I will be able to hand over charge of the line completely by the 30th November. I have this day (18th) handed over the oash and Mr. Lindsey will sign all cheques in future and the Hongkong & Shanghai
Bank have been informed accordingly.
When thus terminating my agreement with the Govern- ment of Hongkong which has lasted for three years and eight months from March 22nd.1906, I would ask if I may be granted
an allowance in the shape of leave on full pay as suggested my Mr. E.S.Lindsey n the case of the Chief Timekeeper.
During my service on the Railway I earned 44 months leave on full pay none of which however I was able to take
I would therefore on account of the exigencies of the work. pray that this leave may be granted me now at the termination
of my agreement.
I propose to remain in China till after Xmas when I will return to Hongkong for a short time before sailing for
Home.
I will then be available to answer any questions which
may turn up during my absence.
I have etc,
{ød) G.W.Evos.
